Help Animal Rescue

Several years ago Anya and Yancho started taking home strained and homeless cats and dogs and looking after them.

Each of the helpless creatures found a home in their back garden. Word got out that Anya and Yancho’s kindness and people started leaving their unwanted animals outside the family’s front door.

Animal rescue work is hard. They need help to build a larger building to house their animals and to provide them with the best quality of life, as most of them will never be adopted.

Temperatures in Kazakhstan go down to the astonishing -30 degrees Celsius during the winter and above + 35 degrees Celsius during the summer. To keep the animals from freezing in the winters and protect them from bad weather in general, the pair had to build a shelter in the back garden of their house.

Now the couple looks after over 80 cats and dogs and the cost of it is over $1 000 per month.

Yancho and Anna build this rescue home because they wanted to help sick and injured animals. They were aware that from time to time a “stray dog” had to be destroyed, but had absolutely no idea the extent of the problem in their area. In 2016 it came to their attention that literally hundreds of stray dogs were being destroyed and abandoned every year, regardless of age or state of health.

Following a lot of heart-searching, Yancho and Anna decided to try and see if they could influence the dreadful situation. When they were told repeatedly that it was none of their business and there was nothing they could do about it, they decided they could not just sit back and do nothing, they had to take action.

Yancho and Anna spoke to friends and family, who were very supportive of their desire to help. They managed to get enough money together to build a shelter for abandoned dogs and cats.
We have rescued emaciated and frightened pups that have been dumped at the side of busy roads, or abandoned in the freezing nights.
